2. Could a Dirty Air Filter Be the Problem?

If it’s been a while since you’ve changed your air filter, it might be restricting airflow — making it harder for your system to cool your home. If the filter looks clogged or dusty, swap it out. This simple fix often restores proper cooling.

3. Is the Outdoor Condenser Blocked?

Your condenser unit (the box outside your home) helps release heat. If it’s covered in leaves, dirt, or debris, it won’t function efficiently. Carefully clear the area around it and rinse the unit gently with a hose (avoid high pressure).

4. Do You Have a Frozen Evaporator Coil?

Signs like frost on refrigerant lines or water pooling near your indoor unit could mean a frozen coil. This often happens due to airflow problems or refrigerant issues. Turn off your system to let it thaw. If freezing continues, call a technician.

5. Is There a Refrigerant Leak?

If your system is running but still blowing warm air and you notice ice on the outdoor unit, a refrigerant leak could be the cause. This isn’t a DIY fix. You’ll need a licensed HVAC technician to diagnose and repair the leak safely.
